Shipwreck Isle

Geography

This island is surrounded by an impenetrable wall of spiky rocks that stick out from the ocean. No ship has managed to navigate past it yet, no matter how small.
The constantly crashing waves against the rocks don't help much either. If your boat smashed to pieces against the rocks, that would mean you would smash against them too after landing in the freezing water.

Ecosystem

Unknown. From what can be seen from a ship, it is uninhabitable bare rock. But it's a large island and one can only guess what is beyond ones view.
For that reason, the island's nickname is 'The Rock'.

Ecosystem Cycles

As far as known the island has the same four seasons as the rest of Tûran.

Localized Phenomena

The seas around the island are always rough, with large waves and strong winds, even on a clear day.

History

Shipwreck Isle was discovered around 500 years ago by Kaylin Eilthana, a famous Elven explorer.
The island got its name because Eilthana's ship crashed on it and half of her crew perished on the sharp rocks. Luckily they were accompanied by another boat that managed to save her and several of her crew.
The King's Elite immediately forbade ships to get close to the island and organized their own expedition. They came to the same conclusion as Eilthana: the island was impossible to reach and it was too dangerous to try.
Bouys were released that formed a blockade around the island. Ships were forbidden to pass the bouys on the risk of the ship being impounded and the captain losing their license by The King's Elite who regularly patrolled the seas around the island.

Tourism

Some tourist ships sail near the island to show curious folk the dangerous rocks. But they never pass the bouys.
