Halflings
Halflings occupy a special place in the Mortal World, since it was their people who managed to avoid a great deal of suffering at the hands of the Primordials. Historically a nomadic people, halfling oral tradition was almost entirely unbroken over the course of the thousand-year occupation, and halflings emerged after the People's War as a race well-versed in self-sufficiency.
Today, halflings are known for their elaborately constructed cultural touchstones. Their merchant clans have run in the same way for centuries, and nearly every child grows up to inherit their parent's career. There are common tales told (sometimes by halflings themselves) that a true halfling can rub two coins together and find a third.
Basic Information
Anatomy
From a distance, adult halflings appear to simply be human children. However, upon closer inspection, the average halfling is more stout, with a tendency to be almost as heavy as most humans.
