The Liar King's Return

Summary

Around 4500 S the dragon king who stole the name of God, Aitiir left Tseol and flew to the moon. They were betrayed by their dragon followers and banished for dragons will not kill another dragon and no people had the power to do so. Aitiir the Liar King promised they would watch Tseol and return when the world came to trouble it could not solve without them. 'A day will come, when only the hand of a God can staunch the flow of horror brought to Tseol by your progeny. On that day I will return, the saviour of the world who all know, all love, all bow for.'

Historical Basis

The only doubt of accuracy concerning this tale is in certain details. Aitiir the Liar King was an undeniably real figure and was indeed banished from Tseol after attempting to conquer it.

Spread

This is a popular tale known by most people and preached by doomsayers of whatever imagined apocalypse suits them.  This event was the culmination to one of the largest threats the people of Tseol have faced.

Variations & Mutation

While swimming to the moon is the most common ending, certain cultures have different destinations of the Liar King. The Qaleans say Aitiir ripped a whole in time and walked to the beginning of the universe while the Jia say they flew into the Sun to die.      Another way in which the story differs is that some tell it not as Aitiir returning to save the world from its end, but to punish people for debasing it. This tone makes sense even with the quote above but often in this moral warning version it is changed. The story often gets change this way by those who wish to chastise modernity and the course of Tseol's people but has less basis in history.
