The Burrows of the Raven Company

Overview

General

Deep below, in the sewers of Oakenfort, lies the burrows of the Raven Company, a group of vile beings who seek only to manipulate and control all others that exist in the world. But regardless of this, they, too, worship a being of supremity. His name, as they believe, is Michorel. What's most interesting, however, is that they worship to keep him locked away, even though he desires to break free from his chains. To keep it this way, they have created a great throne made of elemental stone, and atop it, the Raven sits, forever, to keep Michorel at bay.

Michorel

No one knows who Michorel is, or if Michorel is his true name. But, the Raven Company knows that worship saps power from him, as seen in their ability to bolster the strength of the Raven by taking it from Michorel in their curses upon the deity's name. As such, the Raven Company has continued to use their profaned throne to continuously sap at Michorel, holding him away from the planes, and hopefully keeping destruction at bay.

The Raven

The Raven is a being that has been battered by time. Whatever his original name was is now lost to time as he has been left in the Burrows since the first people came to the area around Oakenfort. He rests upon the Stone Throne, forever sapping away at Michorel and preserving the power of law as a result. Unfortunately, this severely taxes him, and he is unable to control the movements of his subordinates as closely as before. Some of them, he has found, have begun to plot against him in their desire for the rise of Michorel. How Michorel was able to influence the Raven's company of men, he does not know. But, whatever the case, the Raven will continue for eternity to shield the Stone Throne from corruption and hold back the strength that Michorel has begun to slowly accumulate.
