Tarran, Waterborn
Tarrans born to or descendants of water-aligned Matriarchs who have manifested the ability to heal from wounds after being submerged in water, as well as being naturally adept at swimming and holding their breath.
• Hold Breath: Although not truly amphibious, waterborn tarrans have a remarkable ability to hold their breath, increasing the amount of time they can hold their breath to a number of minutes equal to twice their Constitution score rather than a number of rounds equal to twice their Constitution score. This racial trait replaces Clawed Limbs.
• Swim: Waterborn tarrans have a swim speed of 30ft and gain the +8 racial bonus on Swim checks that a swim speed normally grants. This racial trait replaces Multitalented.
• Water in the Blood: Waterborn tarrans gain fast healing 2 for 1 round anytime they submerge completely within a body of natural salt water, fresh water, or brackish water. Stagnant, poisoned, or trapped water (such as water within an artificial pit or a bag of holding) does not activate this ability. Alternatively, they gain this fast healing if they are attacked by a spell that deals damage using water, whether or not the spell’s damage is resisted or negated through other means. They can heal up to 2 hit points per level per day with this ability, after which it ceases to function. This racial trait replaces Dragonscourge.
