Orasfier

The regional capital of Ferrutor, the Empire's most eastern region although it manages to split its time between its two rather large provinces due to having been converted into the largest land-based greatship in Triumve.

Demographics

Orasfier is one of the few cities in the whole of Triumve which boasts a majority hanom population - specifically the ironborn hanom who's affinity for the earth became an affinity for metallurgy over many generations.

Government

Democracy, albeit with a heavy military presence and influence.

Defences

Although it is not always on the move, the nature of the city also makes it very difficult to mount an attack against it, as it's position is not only always changing but if the inhabitantd become aware that they are under attack then they can simply move to more advantageous terrain and/or move towards their own reinforcements. Not that it tends to need reinforcements as the city has also become an almost literal fortress of cannons and other new mechanical weapons with its own garrison of soldiers and both landships and airships which can be used to defend it.

History

Originally, Orasfier was located at the base of a chain of mountains that looked over the Iarbamare plains, where the city mined for the rich supply of metals, but after the new rise of the Savian Empire or, more specifically, the proliferation in its technology, Orasfier became one of the first places to willingly join the Empire long before it came near to simply conquering it and in doing so it became one of the Empire's key strategic cities, where much of their new technology was researched and tested. One of their variations on the original airships was the so-called 'landship' which also used Vridium, but in a much smaller amount and in order to levitate a little off of the ground rather than truly fly. These landships are particularly useful when moving around the plains or even when crossing rivers and lakes, although attempts to send them out to sea proved rather dangerous, as if they broke or otherwise lost power they were not designed to float.

Eventually, and perhaps not surprisingly, the mines started to run dry but instead of setting up mines elsewhere on the plains and setting up supply lines which could be disrupted Orasfier instead dared to push the boundaries of their new machines to the limits and turned the entire city into a landship, although admittedly not a very quick one. Orasfier was thus dubbed the Iron Island, as the city now moves around from mine to mine, farm to farm and port to port, picking up supplies and people along the way.
