Tryperia

Tryperia is the hoary empire of central Trimyra, the home of the great rulers and conquerors of old. Many legends and histories surround the misty shadow lands that are the quavering Tryperian domains.

Structure

Tryperia is a feudalistic, autocratic, imperial power wherein noble lords control narrowing circles of influence.

Assets

The Tryperian empire is a behemoth political power with vast but shrinking holdings of cities and territories including vassal states.

History

The history of Tryperia begins millennia ago when the city-states and tribal villages in the shadowy vales of steely grim mountains began a race of alliances and conquests the reasons for which are lost to history. The tablets record expansions, declines, and stalemates, until in the city of Sul the rose to prominence a man named Tryphon. By good fortune, peerless acumen, or more diabolical means Tryphon lead an explosive expansion of Sul's territory until by the time of his death, Tryphon the the Black Prince, the Great Claimer, had multiplied the holdings of Sul dozens of times over, adding the lands and powers of larger rivals to his own. And so in time the Old people of Sul and their absorbed territories became an unassailable force. The named themselves empire, and those rulers who came before as emperor, back to Tryphon the founder. And the people took his name and burned it onto the land.

Demography and Population

Tryperia is a land of surprising diversity, having no ethnic majority. High Tryperian: 17% Tryperian: 46% Other: 37%

Territories

The territory of Tryperia stretched from Prax in the west to Skoreax in the east and Kohst in the north to the Sea of Electros in the south.

Military

The military of Tryperia is a precisely organized engine of war that is made up of eleven legions, the dragon legion, the phoenix legion, the sphinx legion, the gargoyle legion, the slamandr legion, the roc legion, the chimera legion, the basilisk legion, the manticore legion, the behemoth legion, and the leviathan legion. Each has its own regions and responsibilities. The legions are commanded by the Marshal Primus, the head of the Tryperian military, beneath him are the general imperators, who each command an individual legion. Legions vary in size but they are made up of cohorts of 1000 men, each cohort is broken down into four or five ducenti of 200-250 men.The commander of a ducenti is the highest rank a landrace Tryperian is allowed to achieve, although foreign auxiliaries at the scale of cohort have been commanded by non-Tryperians.

Foreign Relations

Tryperia is aggressive and superior in its relationship with foreign states.   It has long standing military and political grudges against Zhon.   It holds Prax and Skoreax as semi-autonomous vassal states.   It maintains tenuous nonaggression treaties with its former holdings of Bohria and Rebion.   Tryperia is in a state of almost constant conflict along it's norther borders against the barbarian raiders of Kohst and Veria.
