Order of the Black Flower
The Order of the Black Flower is an enigmatic organization of cutthroats and murderers, the most talented killers are recruited and trained as assets. Unlike common gangs or mercenary bands the Order relies on secrecy and the quality of its members rather than sheer numbers and force of steel. Their training instills in them not only great skill, but also a zealous dedication to professionalism.
Being centered in the south, they have chapters from Carthia to Rathos and also up through the Hithia and Tiantia and on the northern shores of Electros. They are the keepers of many ancient secrets and traditions which they bend to their advantage.
Although anyone you encounter upon the streets and in the alleys of the south could potentially be a member of the Order their members are sometimes marked by a five pointed star with a darkened center, the symbol of the black flower.
Structure
The Order of the Black Flower is organized on five progressively smaller tiers, atop of which sits the master of the order, a matriarchal leader referred to only as "The Lady."
Beneath the Lady are the Confessors, veteran assassins who have served the Order and proven their value while learning the traditions. They are the most feared members of the Order as they have proven to be the most deadly, oft possessing an almost supernatural reputation. They manage the functions of the Order as a whole.
Below the Confessors are the Grey Faces, who serve as the head of a chapter order and answer to the Confessors. They are sometimes veteran assassins but trustworthiness and loyalty are the qualities demanded of their station.
Under the Grey Faces are the Blackened Hands, the deed doers of the Order. These are the assassins proper, the ones who execute the actual assassinations. They are also the militant arm of the Order, called upon to act as soldiers should the need arise.
At the bottom of the Order are the White Voices, or White Tongues, these are not full members but act as servants to the Hands, and Faces, but their most crucial role is as spies, informants, and contacts.
Public Agenda
The Agenda of the Order of the Black Flower is to preserve the traditions of the Order, although certain Ladies have perused their own goals, ambitions as high as controlling the political landscape of Trimyra itself.
The Order hires out its services to those who know how to contact them to maintain their coffers and dread reputation.
Assets
The Order has secret chapter houses, hideouts, and caches throughout Trimyra. The extent of their infrastructure is not known to any single individual.
