Eldritch Elected
Leader of Aslana
The Eldritch Elected is one of the Aslanians who has been elected by the Eldritch Court, the leading group elected by the educated. They have many checks and balances with the court, but in times of war or crises, the Elected has more power than the Court.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications needed.
Requirements
They need to be at least 200 and born in the kingdom. Race doesn't matter, but if they are Human, they need to be at least 30, and have a counselor of at least 200 years of age.
Appointment
Needs to be elected by the Eldritch Court and approved by the Council of Corranil.
Duties
- Keeping nationality high
- Teaching the next Elected anything they might need to know about the other rulers of the islands
Responsibilities
- Judging high-class crimes where the death penalty is possible
- Approving or vetoing new laws the Court passes
- Dealing in diplomatic matters with other nations
Benefits
The Elected lives a good life, without regarding the stress, but they can eat well, get paid well, and when their term(s) finish they are well respected, and may become one of the Courtiers.
Accoutrements & Equipment
May receive a special symbol of their authority, be it a crown, a ring, a robe, or anything. They may then keep it when their term(s) end and wear it whenever they want, for no one symbol of the elected will be the same, and only the current one will be recognized as having any power.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
If all of the court unanimously agrees that the Elected is corrupt, then they may dismiss them to be tried and elect a new temporary one. The old Elected is then tried by the Council of Corranil. If they are deemed corrupt, then they are sentenced to a punishment, to be determined by the new Elected, once their position becomes permanent.

I liked the general curtness: You said what you needed and didn't over-elaborate on everything. (In general, that's one of my weaknesses). However, a question about the duties: "keeping nationality high" is generally pretty vague, and abstract. "Teaching the new Elected" is only applicable to the Elected. So I'm unsure if you should make new duties, or maybe clarify the first one, but right now it looks like they're not very powerful, and given that you haven't specified that they control a military of any sort, they look very much like a glorified ambassador.
