"The Gods are dead. Nearly a millennium ago now, they died, one by one. The Outer Planes crumbled slowly to dust; the only survivors were those beings who managed to find their way to the Inner or Elemental Planes before the Collapse. Or so the Wandering Angels say. In the chaos, the Inner and Elemental Planes were thrown into disarray. Our world melded with the Shadowfell in the Darkening, as the grim tendrils of the Plane of Shadow wove itself into every fiber of our world.   The Feywild was transformed into the Nexus, the Elemental Planes falling into orbit around it. Now the Elemental Planes funnel their energies into a world awash with the powers of Life, Earth, Water, Fire, and Air. You can see the Confluence in our sky even during the day, a churn of energy piercing the veil between worlds.   The world has been forever changed by the cataclysm and the arrival of refugees from the Outer Planes.
