Harazar Daekiir
Harazar Daekiir
Harazar Daekiir is the youngest son of Elamaer and Liastra Daekiir. Like many second sons, Harazar is not expected to inherit much of his father’s fortune and was expected to go out and make a life for himself.
While Kaedan, his older brother, has fallen naturally into assisting his father, Elamaer, run the family business, Harazar was drawn to the political intrigue of court.
Growing up as a scion of a minor noble house of Calen Tal tel’Taure exposed Harazar to politics from a young age. Intrigued and seeing an opportunity to aid his family, Harazar obtained a job as an aide at court.
Harazar’s position allowed him to manoeuvre relatively unobserved and thwart a number of attempts to weaken his family’s standing. After a few years aiding various officials, Harazar found himself offered the role of Liaison to the Dwarven Ambassador. The purpose of the role was to facilitate cultural understanding and to ease the ambassador and their staff’s lives in the Elven capital.
Harazar has served in this role for many years, bringing honour and prestige to his family. The recent creation of the joint infiltration teams has seen him transferred to a team based out of D’kt’pa outpost. His superiors at court see his familiarity with Dwarven culture as an asset that can be leveraged. Harazar is not entirely convinced and fears this is an attempt to move him far enough away that he cannot interfere with whatever may befall his family.
Like many Ostrim, Harazar was tested for magical aptitude at a young age. Most, like his brother exhibit the barest of capability, able to master a cantrip or two. Others, exhibit the potential to become great mages. Harazar was not among either of these two groups. While he clearly possessed the ability to cast more potent magic, the assessors believed that his potential was limited and that he would struggle to learn certain types of magic that would hinder his education. Unperturbed by this, Elamaer sought out a private tutor for his son who was willing to push at the boundaries of Harazar’s supposed limitations.
This tutor taught Harazar many things, from the basics of illusion and enchantment magic to music and swordplay, educating Harazar in the style of swordmanship in which he specialised.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Harazar is fairly tall with a lean but athletic physique that emphasises the typical graceful elven appearance. His fine elven facial features are accentuated by his piercing blue eyes and his shoulder length dark brown hair, which he often wears pulled back into a half ponytail.
Apparel & Accessories
Harazar has a tendency to wear robust but well tailored clothing comprising a pair of leather knee-high boots, thick cotton trousers and a light cotton-linen blend shirt. Over this he wears a dark blue woolen coat accented with silver thread at the cuffs. As a response to being sent into a dangerous situation Harazar has acquired a leather cuirass with pauldrons and bracers that he can wear beneath his coat if needed.
At his hip he carries a mastercrafted schiavona, a basket-hilted rapier, with a blackened hilt and a dagger featuring a tapering grip with a rondel guard before the blade. He also carries with him a shortbow and quiver of arrows he can wear on his back or hip.
Around his neck he wears a signet ring bearing his family's crest on a chain.
