‘Leader of Leton’

For a fair length of time, the nation of Leton was managed under a single elected official who commanded several groups below. They were referred to as simply “leader of Leton” and could be either elected by the previous leader, or challenge the current one for the approval of people. They would traditionally reside in an ascetic establishment within the capitol city among citizens that could be considered middle class, though were guarded for and were morally obliged not to explicitly favor certain cities over another. However, as things expanded into a far greater population, they instead had to step down as it was too much for one person. Instead adopting to the current system wherein there are several highest ranking officials each commanding a single aspect to the nation and relying upon one another for support as ‘Overseer of [aspect]’. The rank technically still holds water, as the official responsible for overseeing satisfaction of the people’s is occasionally called “leader of people” instead of “Overseer of satisfaction”, but fundamentally it is far far less powerful as an individual rank as it once was.

Qualifications

It is recommend that being good with people and social complexities is among their suit of knowledge, as well as knowing how to manage complex systems.

Requirements

One only requires to be loved by the people and reciprocate it in equality. There have been foreigners who’ve held this title before, and there’s never been a bloody or even conflicted passing on of the title. Always peaceful.

Challenger favored by people or set in place by previous holder of the position.

Duties

Overseeing the council of management, whom manage various aspects to the nation and dictate resource distributions and government labor.

Responsibilities

They also have the responsibility of receiving the greiviances of Leton, and of other nations as well, seeing to it that all are satisfied in the best interests of Leton.

Benefits

It is seen to that they live comfortably, in conditions reflective of the lower averages of their people. However, some officials have taken advantage of this in the past and made it seem better than it really was.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

there is a list that people can either contribute or revoke their names from in order to label dissatisfaction. If too many people have their name on the list, then it is seem to it they can call for a challenger.
