The Night Train

The Myth, The Legend, The Train.

Where is it from?

No one knows quite where the Night Train came from but it is only spotted in the skies by those with Literomantic power, and only in the month of November. It is believed that the train is a response to increased power of Literomancy since the Tome has come into being. There are ancient tales in House Felis that say Tome Knights may be summoned by this train to battle with their words and support the cats in their struggles. These Literomancers and future Tome Knights are not necessarily heroes, simply those compatible with Kittering and House Felis.

Kitten Fairytails

Some lucky kittens will hear fantastic tales about this train and its spectral werecat coachmen. How the tickets will manifest to passengers when House Felis is in need, and it will bring them newly changed to werecats to join the house. Many who have heard these stories have placed the Night Train strictly in the category of myth, dismissing its exsistence. Many who come to House Felis by way of the Night Train will never speak of it, usually believing it to be a strange dream or other apparition.

The Cars

A Car For Every Writer

Considered a haven for writers, the Night Train has a car to suit every writer. A lounge for those who wish to chat with like minded individuals, a car full of typewriters, notepads, and laptops for those who prioritize productivity, a pet car for those who need a soft cuddle, and the Felis Car. No matter a writer's disposition if they have an affinity for House Felis they will find them in this car eventually. It will detatch from the main body of the train and transport the new Tome Knight to Kittering, wherever it may be at the time. Occasionally it has been known to travel with the main train to Kittering's ancestral home before finding the true location if the cat castle has been moved elsewhere.

The Werecat Coachcats

Those being taken to House Felis will be welcomed by a werecat coachcat. They may not say anything, or they may greet and chat with the newest Tome Knight about the train's facilities. These cats will find any way to discretely turn a Literomancer into a werecat before depositing them in Kittering. Often described as polite and helpful, many don't suspect these gentle cats of foul play until it's too late and they are standing in Kittering with no true understanding of events unfolding around them. It is speculated in Kitten Fairytails that these werecats are former Tome Knights from House Felis who could not rest after their demise and desired to guide reinforcements to the house to support them in their fight.
