The Three Rivers

The Three Rivers is a title for the three largest rivers within The Agnosta Equator : The Mississippi River in the United States of America, The Nile River in East Africa, and the Murray River in Australia. They are connected through supernatural means and have been the conduit to many phenomena and anomalies within the regions.

Discovery

This geographical discovery was first theorized in 1855 during the Great Road expedition helmed by Alexander Hartridge. Hartridge studied the strange encounters and instances that occurred in surrounding areas of the Murray River. Frequent beast attacks (or 'spirits' coined by Australians), memetic phenomena, and anomalous scenarios are not often frequent in many areas of the planet.  Collaborating with other scientists outside of the world, it was also discovered that The Nile River in Egypt had similar properties parallel to the Murray Rivers'. This connected behavior lead to further investigation into this strange phenomena until it reached the United States and its pivotal Mississippi River.

Anomalous Events

Upon this discovery, previous reports of strange anomalous experiences near these rivers were also shared amongst expedition partners, documenting similar experiences and creating a cohesive timeline of any linked phenomena the Three Rivers shared. Below are a few examples of shared events The Three Rivers have had. List of the full phenomena between the Three Rivers: Coming Soon

-Blood Sucking Riverbanks

On May 4th, 1855 the Murray River in Australia was reported to have turned to a blood-red hue that shriveled up and killed any nearby vegetation on the river banks, resulting in a barren and dry shoreline. At the same time, The Nile and Mississippi River experienced a strikingly similar phenomenon occurring.   However, it was reported that a large abundance of vegetation was instead seen growing at an extraordinarily fast rate along the river banks. Samples were gathered and were identified as flora and plant species primarily native to Southeast Australia. Even reports of various species of animals including wallabies and possums were seen roaming on the riverbeds of Egypt and America. Within nine hours after discovery, the vegetation shriveled up and the red hue of the water returned to normal. The transported Australian animals hypnotically swam into the waters and subsequently drowned.   This encounter was documented by various field scientists worldwide and begin that hypothetical thesis in which these three rivers are metaphysically connected together, sharing similar behaviors.

-The Whitney Incident

In 1841, a man from Iowa named Thomas Whitney mysteriously found himself relocated to NSW, Australia while traversing upriver in the Mississippi River.    Whitey was traveling north to reach Indiana to see relatives, using a canoe and the streams of the Mississippi River to guide him there safely. Whitney has traveled up and down this river many times, and this was no different. However, as he continued upriver he started to realize that he was yet to reach his destination which should've been hours ago. No landmarks were seen so grudgingly he pressed on hoping he'll be able to see port soon.   As dusk began to set in, Whitney had limited light to see further ahead but did see a dock light up ahead. He ran the canoe aground and continued into the community.   Whitney noticed the layout of the town was nowhere similar to his usual visits. Asking around, he was greeted by Australian accented gentlemen, perplexing the man further. DEmanding explanation and falling into hysteria, the townsfolk sat him down and called for authorities to take control of the situation.    Police interviews revealed Thomas Whitney to be telling his recounts as truthfully as possible. Showing his US-issued identification. Communications in the states confirmed Whitney's identity and alibi.  While waiting for transport back to the States, Whitney became a small celebrity in Australia, with newspapers interviewing him on the matter and the Great Road Expedition researchers asking specific questions about the experience. These researchers specifically asked Whitney if he had anything reported missing he initially had before arriving in Australia. The only thing Whitney responded with is 'the pocket watch he kept in his left vest pocket is no longer with him'.    At the same time during this scenario, Researchers and locals in neighboring towns to the Nile River report seeing a vast amount of pocket watches laying on the riverbed.
"To be honest, I'm not as scared as to how I wound up here. Im more worried about how I'm gonna get home."
