Rafflesia Alraunes

The Rafflesia Alraunes are detested by all, for their petals exude a pungent odour that is often likened to that of putrefying dromedary-flesh. Abhorred by all save for the nomadic insectoid people known as the colchwors who spend their entire lives chasing flocks of skybeasts, anticipating their eventual demises upon which they will commence a most joyous feast - to them a little rot doesn't even matter to their stomachs. Rafflesia alraunes follow the colchwors, picking on low-status stragglers far from the epicenter - to them they smell absolutely delectable, combined with the poor eyesight of a colchwor and the rafflesia alraune looks something dead.

Basic Information

Anatomy

They look like regular alraunes save for the fact that the flower from which they sprout is an enormous rafflesia; which, as you would expect, stinks like high hell.

Genetics and Reproduction

When the colchwor bears down upon its quarry the colchwor finds itself bound in a thick vine mass, then thrust into a giant metabolistic flower where its memories will be erased and its body reshaped into its captors' infant daughter, and voila! The alraunes have gained yet another member! To keep up with the nomadic nature of their prey, they seek the services of the the noseless bhayut clan which ambulates them with wheelbarrows, following the colchwors til they run out of money. Nobody else wants to interact with them since they all smell like a charnel house on a hot day.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

All their senses are incredibly good except their smell, which has been destroyed by their own stench. The more vegetation they surround themselves with the wider the range of their morphic resonance is.
