Elf
Homo Sapiens Pulchra (Wise Beautiful Man) is a subspecies of Homo Sapiens. Commonly known as elves, they are typically characterized by slightly pointed ears, greater average heights than Homo Sapiens, and more pronounced physically attractive traits.
Basic Information
Genetics and Reproduction
Homo Sapiens Pulchra reproduce nearly identically to Homo Sapiens. The biggest difference is in the fertility and cycle of the females. Female Homo Sapiens Pulchra have a higher rate of naturally terminated pregnancies, 80% vs 20% for Homo Sapiens. Because of this, the females regularly release 1 to 4 eggs during their cycle. This results in rare pregnancies, with high rates of twins and triplets.
Homo Sapiens Pulchra and Homo Sapiens are capable of producing offspring together, resulting in children with wide variations in appearance, life span, and abilities. These children are commonly known as half-elves.
Because the genetic mutations that resulted in the Homo Sapiens Pulchra subspecies are contained on a single chromosome pair, it is possible for two half-elves to produce a fully elvish child, or a fully human child. This can be predicted using a 2x2 Punnett square.

Growth Rate & Stages
Homo Sapiens Pulchra are longer lived than Homo Sapiens. The offspring of Homo Sapiens Pulchra reach maturity much later than Homo Sapiens. Members of Homo Sapiens would consider Homo Sapiens Pulchra to be immortal, as they are capable of living past 10,000 years old.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Homo Sapiens Pulchra posses greater senses of sight, smell, and hearing than Homo Sapiens. They also posses the ability to perceive near-UV light, giving them the ability to see in what Homo Sapiens would call darkness.
