Genasi

The term "Genasi" refers to the Planetouched who's heritage is linked to the Elemental Planes, and the name is derived from the fact that the Genasi are, for the most part, descended from a Genie of some sort. Genasi are divided into two groups:

Native Genasi

The Native Genasi likely came about as a result of Kith who were abducted to the Elemental planes by Genies and were the slaves of Genies. Some likely still remain in such positions, but others live in their own societies.

Genasi Primers

Genasi Primers are sometimes born to the children of powerful elemantal wizards, sorcerers or planar travelers who've had their souls tainted by the elemental planes. At other times, they may be the distant relatives of a Native Genasi who managed to come to the Prime, or even a Genie. Finally, a large number of Genasi are descended from humans born to Native Genasi - just as Genasi Primers can be born to humans, an ordinary human is sometimes born to Native Genasi, and these have a tendency to find their way back to the prime.
