Quthnorak's Tower
Not far west from Ust Natha, a strange tower made of a perfectly smooth, purplish substance rises into the cavern above. Most anyone familiar with the city and its environs shuns this place, for here dwells the Illithid arcanist Quthnorak. A rogue who lives away from his kind, he performs experiments and magic forbidden by the mores of single-minded Illithid society within this tower.
