Grand Library
The Grand Library is the biggest library on Torika. It contains many books, scrolls, documents and maps from all over Torika.
Purpose / Function
The Grand Library is mainly used by the students of the mage order, to help them in their studies. Shortly before the test are held the library is filled with hundreds of students who are learning. But from time to time rich and influential persons are visiting the library to help in their agendas or look historic lineages.
The lowest two floor are the forbidden floors. They are protected by barriers and magical creatures, that patrol the floor. The high-ranking mages conduct experiments that should be hidden from the people outside the order.

Alterations
Due to the fast-growing order the library expanded in size massively. First the library moved underground in order to fully utilize the small area the order received from the king. The great library was a major challenge for the newly found mage order. The mages never built underground and the first iteration had thick stone pillars, who supported the celling and the town above and took up space that would be useful for the shelfs and table that carried the books.
After the floor was filled to the brim and the mages learned more about architectural magic, they reduced the size of the stone pillars and reinforced them with magic. The following floors were built in order accommodate the growing knowledge. The fourth floor was built in order to protect the academy from experiments that are potential dangerous, like the failed experiment that created the black knight. The incident also showed that some of the knowledge is to dangerous to simply sit in a library. So, the mage created a hole in the middle of the library and constructed the singularity core, which powers all the magical items inside the academy and the barriers that block the access to the more dangerous books and scrolls.

History
The Grant Library was always a quit place. Not many things happened here, but the few that happened had an impacted that lasted for centuries.
The creating of the black knight is one of the most noteworthy and one of the most brutal ones.
Right after that was the accidently opening of a demon portal, who caused massive destruction in the lower levels of the library. Luckily all the powerful seventh ring mages were present during the incident and the portal could be closed in a few days.
