Crystal Lake

The crystal lake, or crystal sea is a large body of water in between Tana's Empire and Green Earth. As the sun rises in the morning, the lack takes on the aspect of a shining reflection of this world, almost like a portal to the feywild. Its surface glimmering and inspires bards from all around the world to sing love and beauty. This incredible appearance comes from a formation of crystals, growing on the bottom of the lake, refracting the light, which bounces between the various crystal before coming back up in a beautiful display of color.
Due to the presence of this mineral, the lake is a source of tension, as both habitants of the Green Earth, and Tana's empire wish to mine it. Those highly magical crystals are valuable resources to craft magic items. Local myth and legend say the crystal are caused by the lingering magic of a crystal dragon sheltering on the middle island.

Adventure Hook

Many legends about this lake are told across Toriel, most of them revolve around the magical crystal growing at the bottom of the lake and on the island nestled at the center of the lake. With so many attracted by the natural treasures offered by the lakes, countless people want to get their hand on the lake's resources.

Blood Crystal

The natural resources provided by the lake are a constant source of tension between Tana's empire and the hobgoblin empire. In order to avoid conflict, both realms agreed to not pursue the exploitation of the lake's crystal until a better solution can be found. However, a greedy merchant sees that as an opportunity to use his network of smugglers to be the only one accessing the crystal lake resources.
However, his previous ship never returned, and he now wishes to hire adventurers to explore the crystal lake and discover it secrets.
