The Two Year War
The Two Year War started after the assassination of King Gregory Caleghera of the Kingdom of Rocborough. He was found dead in his room from poison. The heir to the throne, Crown Prince Jared, accused his own brother, Duncan, or the crime and had him arrested. Duncan had a private army of mercenaries who immediately launched an attack on the kingdom of Rocborough. Jared responded swiftly, sending out his own troops to drive them off. The war continued for two years, with many citizens of the kingdom joining the ranks of the army to defend their homes. Jared's own teenage son, Prince Anthony, eventually joined the fray, after some rigorous training with other new recruits. While on the front lines, Anthony made close friends with many of the soldiers, helping to lead them to many victories over the course of two years. The kingdom's army eventually managed to trap the mercenaries against the edge of a cliff, and the invaders were forced to surrender. The war now over, the citizens of Rocborough were able to return to their normal lives, and the now-King Jared casually had his brother, Duncan, executed for treason as part of the victory celebration.
