Thennon Tiorath

High Lord Thennon None Changed to Tiorath

Summary

Thennon Tiorath was the first High Lord of the Hierarchy, and founded the Tiorath Hierarchy at the dawn of the first age. He is held in high esteem in the Tiorath isles where he is perceived as a godlike figure.

Description

Documents and paintings recovered from the early first age suggest that Thennon stood taller than most Tiorathans at 6'2. His hair is depicted as either an extremely deep brown or even black, and his eyes were a stormy grey.

History

Early History

Most historians believe that Thennon Tiorath was born to a noble family in Weisiar roughly 30 BFE (Before First Era), and many believe that he was the nephew of the ruling lord of Weisiar at the time.    The first writings that scholars agree reference the future High Lord are dated to 14 BFE in the summer (northern reckoning). By this time he had already taken the name Tiorath (after the isles themselves). He had amassed a large following amongst the nobility on the isles of Nor'Weisiar and Nor'Renic, both of which had asperations of forming a Tiorathan empire. He advocated for the conquering of Nor'Holruun and the full colonisation of both Nor'Henruut and Sol'Henruut (which were poorly explored), and on the 81st of summer 14 BFE he led a campaign against the independant governance of Holruun.   The campaign was long and bloody, lasting until the fortress at Forr fell to Thennon's forces in the spring (northern reckoning) of 9 BFE. Thennon would take the governance of Holruun as his own, forging an alliance with the lords who had assisted in his campaign. Together the lords of this alliance would fully colonize the isles of Nor'Henruut and Sol'Henruut, and began planning the city of High Henruut (then called Henruut). However Thennon would begin working on his ascension even then, keeping little of his share of the plunder, instead using it to rebuild his new territories and gain the trust of his enemies turned vassals.   He returned the lords he had formerly opposed to power, and even convinced the alliance to place one of the former lords of Holruun in charge of the new colony of Nor'Henruut, citing his experience as justification (and likely using his ties to the Weisiaran nobility to pull some strings behind the scenes). Over the years he used his connections to informerly elevate himself to a place of greater authority than the other lords, before cementing his position unchallenged upon his declaration of the first age, pacifying potential rivals with promises of riches from the newly discovered Sethir.   On the 1st of the 1st of the 1st of the 1st (1/1/1/1, or day 1, month 1, year 1 of age 1) Thennon declared Tiorath united under the governance of the Tiorath Hierarchy, and would personally lead expeditions to Sethir for the next decade.

Late History

Thennon lived out his twilight years in the city of Renic, dying after surpassing the age of 217. By the time of his death Tiorath had fully gained control of the states of Sethir, destroyed the kingdoms of Aior, Celcene and Herost, and enslaved the Seltien and Malruun peoples. However Thennon had chosen to allow the Seltien kingdom of Melnir to exist as a vassal state.

Perception

Tiorath

The Tiorathan people hold him to the same esteem that other cultures would hold their gods, and many people believe that he was the remnant of Astral glory amongst the human race. Places of worship throughout Tiorath are often overlooked by a statue of Thennon, no matter the religion.
