The Qu'astan Abatement

Qu'astan's might was with peerless. And it's victory over the north was complete. From Gallia and Hellene to icy reaches of the north, and to the Round Sea to the east, Qu'astan dominated.   It is possible to say that their rule galvanized the will of the inhabitants of the north, but it may not be enough.   Qu'astan at its height in northern Tor Lindon, was stretched out and arrogant. But equally important was that many of the ranking officials who commanded the invasion saw little interest in remaining and released the reins to more questionable officials and subordinates. Greater monuments were planned, more lavish and decadent celebrations held, and the conquered peoples were flattened underfoot.   The oppressed peoples watched the lavish celebrations and festivities held in honor of the most trivial Qu'astan event with growing anger. Qu'astan soon found itself beset on many fronts by pockets of increasingly organized resistance.   The period of history had for some time been referred to by historians generally as the Qu'astan Abatement, the growing amount of study and the differences have now led the Abatement to be further divided into two coinciding sub-periods: the Imperial Awakening and the Heslonic Accession.   Where the resistance began is of particular discordant discussion between the Trone and Heslonic nations, but begin it did, both in Qu'astan's easternmost holdings and in those bordering the Birthing Sea. While factual accounts are growing increasingly difficult to separate from the growing mythology of each account, the methodology employed by both movements to push back the Qu'astan resonates in northern Tor Lindon to this day.
