Fea'haneb Cairnshadow
In 650DR, Fea'haneb was born of the Hakani Peoples of Cairnshadow, of clan Tiertrutven. Born the seventh child of the clan leader Maskan, a rare spellcaster amongst giant folk, known to be short of temper and quick with a fireball, clan Tiertrutven was traditionally a clan of builders, scholars and cooks, Maskan encouraged all his children to study martial arts.
Fea, the second youngest proved especially gifted in this training, despite battling a chronic condition causing loss of breath and low stamina. Fea's gifts were those of tactics and analysis, and those gifts were largely unrecognised by their kin, who saw themselves as part of the Hakani, strong warriors of glory and relentless fervour. The main exception to that being their younger brother, Isal’vox, who was a gentle spirit, poet, and Fea's closest friend. They oft spent time at the Cairn with Shaman Bogeyed Jom where they learned to read and write.
As they grew, Fea and Isal managed to learn how to thrive in an environment in which they were unique, gaining some renown and being saught after both as assets in battle to the strong giantkin of the tribes.
In 720DR, Fea met a Firbolg named Træomfavn of clan Skovensgaev. They fell in love and swiftly discovered that she was pregnant. She gave birth to a healthy baby named Pileskygge, whom they raised together with clan Skovensgaev. in 728DR, they had a second child, named Fea'haneb the younger.
In 731DR Fea's father was challenged to a duel by a new clan-leader, a Goliath named Hovedsamler of the Stenhoved Clan. Hovedsamler won, beheading Maskan and thus a new leader of clan Tiertrutven was needed. As is customary among Firbolgs, a vote by Jundrstone was cast for the new leader, Fea's older brother, Skinnul ranc, became the new head of the clan.
After the death of Maskan, a series of duels and revenge killings begin to spread throughout Cairnshadow. Clan Skovensgaev vote to stay neutral in the conflicts, but clan Tiertrutven rally behind fire giant warlord Helved Gormorkh. Fea initially stays with their wife and children, but when word spreads that clan Stenhoved is hunting the blood of Maskan, Fea loudly and pubicly returns home to clan Tiertrutven to join their siblings in the war effort.
By 736, the worst of the fighting was over, with one in five of the folk of Cairnshadow having perished. Though tempers had settled, and truces had been reached, it would take decades of dedicated rebuilding before the tribes would be as healthy as they were. Fea threw themselves whole-heartedly into this effort, feeling duty-bound to help cultivate the sense of community they felt when younger.
In 771 Fea met with some outsiders from the Balkirian Empire. A rich prospector was leading an expedition into the jungle to locate some rare ores, and accepted work as a guide in exchange for books. The books were tales and histories of Balkir; Knights, castles and chivalry.
In 784 Fea and Isal went out into the jungle and were attacked by a T.Rex. Isal was lost in the fight, though Fea finished the beast off after. Returning to Cairnshadow, they buried their brother with their siblings. Fea carved a stone bearing the mark of their brother's Jundrstone, and their friend Bogeyed Jom had a bone breastplate carved and enchanted for Fea in his honour. After this, Fea felt adrift and without connection in their home, and began dreaming of what wonders could be found across the sea.
In 786, Fea acquired passage on a ship helmed by their sibling, Lunt’nif out of Stornes bound for Karine. Arriving in the Jewel of the West. Living homeless on the isle of The Stays, working for coppers as a labourer. Here they made friends with an elven dockworker named Scylla. She gave Fea some fish and chatted to them in elven for a time, finding interest in this unusual traveller with a scythe and a sack of rocks and bones. She told him of the Wanderer's Court, where they could find a bed, and that they wouldn't take Fea's scythe at the gates if they said they were a farmer. That night, Fea slept in their new home.
At the Wanderer's Court Fea was welcomed inside by steward of the court, Plague Rat, and told that they were welcome to eat, wash, don some new clothes, and sleep, so long as they were willing to do some chores the following day. Happily, Fea agreed. And so began their life as a Wanderer of the Court. In the coming weeks, Fea saw something of the workings of the court, meeting the illusive Enoch, seeing armed mercenaries come and go, and finally, meeting the resplendent Lady Asari Dianti, the Dawn Knight. She was the first person that Fea had met who compared with the legends of Balkir. She was the benefactor of the Court, and the leader of the Order of the Plucked Eye and Heart; a sizeable order of knights spread throughout the empire working local level threats where means are not in place to pay for other mercenary assistance. This was what they were looking for.
