The latest talk on the streets and in the taverns of Sharn has been about the so-called death curse: a wasting disease afflicting everyone who’s ever been raised from the dead. Victims grow thinner and weaker each day, slowly but steadily sliding toward the death they once denied.
When they finally succumb, they can’t be raised—and neither can anyone else, regardless of whether they’ve ever received that miracle in the past. Experts in divine and necromatic magic from the most prestigious temples and universities in Khorvaire are at a loss to explain this curse and its cause.
Your patron, Creilath Movanek the master inquisitive, has found a lead for the cause of the curse, a recording retrieved from an ancient ruin in Xen’Drik. It speaks of the discovery of an ancient Eldritch Machine able to control Dal Quor’s dreamlike energy sending humans into an eternal rest. Unfortunately, the recording and the agent sent to retrieve the recording have been missing ever since his last report at the predetermined rendezvous point in a newly opened Nightclub located in the City of Tower’s Skyway. Movanek has hired you members of House Medani in order to retrieve the recording and solve the mystery of the Death Curse all behind closed doors and with utmost discretion in order to keep prying eyes and perched ears at bay.
