Dawnstalkers

Dawnstalkers are essentially desert elves. They receive a +2 Con and +1 Wis as a racial bonus. Regardless of class, they are proficient with their curved knives (jambiyas) and with either spear OR longbow (player choice). If dressed in their traditional garb, they receive a +4 to sneak checks to hide while above ground. They have limited low-light vision (15') but have advantage on Save vs blindness. Dawnstalkers are NOT proficient with heavy armor at level one, but can take that proficiency later in game.
Dawnstalkers, or *Faoli* in their native tongue, are a centuries old elven tribe that makes the Isles of Ga'rosh their home. Well accustomed to harshness of Gordann, they see life and the passage of time through tired, understanding eyes. Value is placed in preserving the customs and history of their tribe through song and dance. Their dress is foreign and garish to outsiders, but functional and in both its practicality and its cultural preservation. Faoli wearing flowing outer garments woven in mottled patches of tans, browns, and grays that mimic the world they walk. Under those outer garments though, are long tunics and vests in bright, vibrant colors, embroidered with scenes from the tribe's history and stories of creation, love, loss, battle, and triumph. They carry small curved knives on a chain from their waist, and while some have adapted to more standard weaponry, many still prefer their traditional tribal spears and longbows.   Each tribal member sees the "tribe" as a living, breathing entity, and gauges their actions based on how it will impact the tribe's well being. If a member does something that hurts the tribe or beings dishonor to it, they will be asked to make penance in equal amount to the damage. They are not shunned by the tribe, but their right to be buried on The Dan with their ancestors is forfeit until this slight has been corrected. This act is called balancing, and the final decision rests with the Great Mother of the tribe.   The Faoli number roughly eight hundred in size, however there are assumed to be another hundred or so that are out individually or in pairs exploring Tohrn and sending reports of both natural and political upheaval. The are very self sufficient, and maintain large herds of goat-like animals called Frawn, which provide the fibers for making their beautiful textiles. The tribe will travel with the seasons, and make their way to Thangol and Tehbran once every 7 seasons, setting up a large bazaar and providing most of the trade income for the tribe.
