Summer Camp 2019 in Tiyu Amara | World Anvil

Summer Camp 2019

Summer Camp is back, and that means 30 new prompts to complete! Last year's Summer Camp was my first exposure to a big World Anvil competition and the community spirit, and it was a delight, even if the world I had worked on has fallen into disrepair. I'm far more confident in Shano fe Yula's ability to survive this time! My main priority this year is to try not to break the world I've built so far too badly, and to have a lot of fun!

Closing Remarks

As far as my personal goal goes - which was to not destroy Shano fe Yula during Summer Camp, like I did to Asavla last year - this year has been a resounding success! My approach hasn't necessarily changed since last year, but having had nearly a full year to work on SFY prior to Summer Camp definitely helped, since it meant its foundation was a little sturdier before having strange prompts thrown at it!
I also think that the quality of what I have written this year has improved, which I attribute to both my having more experience, and also to all the smaller challenges that have happened since WorldEmber, which have helped me figure out what type of articles I like to write and how I like to make them look. It made it easier to get into a workflow and write things that feel "complete", even if there is still room to go back later! I'm also just really proud of some of my articles, and I don't think any of them will be deliberately kept hidden after WASC ends :)
A side goal that I didn't even know I wanted to achieve was to hit 25k, which I only realised was possible after writing the nearly-4k-long War of the Vosti Succession. And I did! I only crossed it narrowly with 25105 words, but it still feels like an achievement ^v^
I think, no matter how I slice it, this year has been a success! I can't wait to keep writing and worldbuilding after my short burnout-preventing break. First on the agenda - rewriting the Magic article. Pray for me /s
