One King to Rule Them All

Introduction

In Tilea, magic comes from ancient artifacts. Somehow these artifacts grant powers to those who wield them even if only for a few seconds so in theory it'd be easy to spread the power to everybody in the world. Artifacts are cycled between nations to ensure all powers are shared among all people, at least if a nation is willing to share it with their people. There are small circles who refuse to accept any powers bestowed by these artifacts as their origins are unknown. Their powers may be great, but without knowing if there's a cost some don't feel like they're worth it.   What would happen if these artifacts were to disappear?

Olthazhars Plan

His main goal is destroying the ancient artifacts that grants mundane users the ability to use magic, without this he will be one of the few casters alives. allowing him to launch his undead assault on the world.

General Synopsys

The main plot is that Olthazhar is an undead lich and hes evil, he has been extending his life unnaturally for eons, however, each soul he devours brings him less and less life. his quest to remedy his situation leads him to a great dwarven Vault. which he lays siege too with his armies of undead hordes. Olhtazahr quests for eternal life, but to cut him off from his dependance on the souls of others hell needs to get his hands on the book of vile darkness.   The location of the book is unknown, however Olthazhar has been raiding local towns and villages with libraries and searching for any texts that may have a clue to the location of his prize.   His first goal was to destroy all the arcane artifacts that allow mundane races to interact with the weave, remember, Olthazhar alone deserves to wield the power of the weave.

Different paths within the plan.

If olthazhar gets the book at any point he will solve his soul problem in 2 d10 days.   If olthazhar solves his soul problem, he will then launch an assault on the living world and quest to destroy the arcane artificats that give the realm magic.   If the players find his True Name, (Simdaekal Olthanns) and speak it do him, they have advantage against his saving throws.   If the players build a Keep within 6 Hexes of olthazhar, eh will prioritize destroying their stronghold and then going about his plans.

Session 1

Session 1 started with the players arriving to Ryna Rilark to retireve the seasonal shipment of scrolls and texts. Upon arriving they are alerted the fact that the last strixhaven students to arrive here turned their magic to the village and destoyed a portion of the Stienstads wall.
This is a spy who's in a ring of spies known as the black hand. They attended strixhaven to learn about their target, salazar ustengrav, leader of The Mystic Pact. Salazar poses a grave threat to whomever hired these Brutal arcane deviants. Their mission for now is to disrupt all shipments of texts and scrolls heading to strixhaven. Olthazhar knows salazar has found something incredible, and it will give him the power to have a chance at discovering olhtazhar.
They Black Hand are aware of the party and their efforts to try and discover them and are actively trailing the party. keeping tabs of these "heroes"

NPC's

Arthor Green the Cleric of life.

There's a lot to say about Arthur Green, but two things you'll never forget are that he's farsighted and incorruptible. Of course he's also ambitious, amusing and good-natured, but they're in shorter supply, especially considering they're mixed with being cold as well. His farsightedness though, this is what he's kind of cherished for. On many occasions people will count on this and his considerate nature whenever they need assistance or help.   Nobody's perfect of course and Arthur has plenty of rainy days too. His intolerance and morbid nature cause plenty of grievances and could ruin plenty of evenings. Fortunately his incorruptible nature helps lighten the blows and moods when needed.

Arthors Function in the party

Arthor is going to be the healer of the party, nobody made a cleric, so an npc will do it. he will be ran as a ratainer from Matt Covilles strongholds expansion.

Mia Carr

Looks can be deceiving when dealing with Mia Carr, but the fact she's thievish and apathetic is just the tip of the iceberg. Let alone the fact she's also coarse, disorderly and selfish, but their effects are at least lessened by impulses of being cheerful as well. But focus on her as this is what she's often despised. Multiple enemies have been made because of this and her irresponsibility, which is a true shame for both sides.   Fair is fair though, Mia is complex and grey like the rest of us. She's planful and innovative even if in small doses, who knows what could happen. Unfortunately her apathetic nature will forever be something to deal with.
