Ehsaan is heavily left-handed and finds it quite tricky to use her right hand for small intricate tasks such as using a screw driver or opening a tin can. However in sport Ehsaan is ambidextrous and can efficiently use both her hands to play but she does prefer her left over her right as she enjoys to be unique once in a while.

Special abilities

Earth element: Ehsaan is entrusted with all things nature, she can drag half a ton of soil mid air all while causing cycles of earthquakes with ease, however unlike Giovanni or Ezra, the material (earth) has to be within her grasp in order for her to use her element. Ehsaan's healing abilities are considered the most powerful and the most reactive.

Ehsaan dresses very plainly and rarely wears anything fancy or decorative, she in fact despises these types of clothes and disliked it even more when Asheerah had enforced this on her. Some might say that her dress sense has no difference to that of a boy. Her choice of clothes include hoodies and other loose jackets.

Growning up Ehsaan had gone to a regular state school very close to her home, from primary to secondary school she would walk there and this would only take a matter of minutes. When young, Ehsaan actually enjoyed school ( Obviously not at the time) but thinking back she does miss it and remembers it very fondly. She now is in a sixth form studying in the field of technology which she now deeply regrets.

Employment

Ehsaan has never had a job in her life! However there was that odd work experience where she worked in a high street chemist. Ehsaan is a stubborn soul putting her desires first in her life. She does not agree with the terrible working hours and the low wages of working whilst your a teenager, it is a waste of time and effort regardless if you are getting paid or not. Ehsaan's dream job is constantly evolving with her burning passions but all in all as the saying goes ,“Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life."

Accomplishments & Achievements

Most of her achievements are linked to school competitions as she rarely took hobbies outside of school premises. Some of her achievements are listed below:

A borough finalist at rowing

Scoring a row of 6's in a cricket match in a real live cricket ground! She also had the fantastic opportunity to meet world renouned Cricket teams and of course asked for their autographs.

Failures & Embarrassments

Ehsaan's life is sadly filled with embarrassments and failures. In her own world Ehsaan has always been known to mess up her speech one way or another. School was particularly stressful for her, whether that be because of socialising, public speaking or simply reading out from a book. Her heart beats at a rapid pace and her voice does not stop wobbling, either that or she simply stammers and cannot get the words out of her mouth. Ehsaan wished more than anything for this burden to be lifted from her shoulders but no matter how hard she had practiced or rehearsed she could not heal herself.

Another obvious embarassment has to be her encounters with Asheerah. Naturally Asheerah made Ehsaan very uneasy, placing her in difficult and uncomfortable situations and this only heightened when Ehsaan finally stood up for herself and had insulted Asheerah.
Like Giovanni she shares the same grief of losing ones element as they both had lost theirs just before the rebellion. She had felt a huge shame which hung onto her even after exiting out of the vortex. It is such a loss, an ability which so few had been gifted, Ehsaan feels as though she had thrown it all away.

Mental Trauma

Ehsaan had suffered quite a lot of mental trauma although much of it is hidden. She had gone through quite a lot of verbal and physical abuse at home as a child and even as a teenager. Her parents would punish her for the slightest mistake or beat her if she had talked back to them or even worse, talked back to her relatives. She has several restrictions placed on her, her only escape being the journey to and back from school. Life at school however is not any better, she has very little friends and thus is isolated from many classes and pupils. Her isolated nature is somewhat brought about by an acute form of social anxiety and the dislike of having to speak, she thinks of this severe nervousness as a curse. Since these anxieties took hold her school nights have been sleepless causing Ehsaan to suffer from a minor case of insomnia. She believes that her life serves no purpose and perhaps it would be better if she did not exist at all.

Intellectual Characteristics

Ehsaan has a sharp and broad mind. She is able to see things from different points of view and even does this unwillingly. She cannot help but sympathise or feel genuinely sorry for even the most unlikeable groups given some context and history though she may not want too. There are two sides for each coin so would be able to lend an ear to anyone be it good or evil, she believes that retaliating without a cause is not wise and only gives one more reason for the opposition to complain. Ehsaan would be excellent at debates though her public speaking skills/ speaking in general let's her down.

Morality & Philosophy

She is a staunch leftist and believes that capitalism only begets greed, violence and a thirst for power. She believes in the greater good, striving for social equality with a large emphasis on the cultivation and nurturing of ones own community. Humans should value one another with mutual respect regardless of background. Despite this though, she in fact does share some sympathy with disadvantaged far right groups, not because she agrees but Ehsaan believes their ideas of hatred should not be rooted in the immigrant community but rather their anger should be centred around the elites, the true cause of all their troubles.

Taboos

Ehsaan does not care about taboos very much despite growing up in a very conservative household. However this liberal attitude is fairly new to her as she too thought much like her parents and surrounding family. There were many subject matters which were no go zones, too many to list here in fact but such subjects include, gender roles, sexuality and fornication etc. To Ehsaan these were matters better to be left alone and would rather blush or cringe hearing about them. Ehsaan is now lax about these matters and could not care less about what anyone thinks about them. Though she may not agree with some actions herself, she does not like to talk or think about things with little use to her and cannot judge someone with little context.

Motivation

Ehsaan believes that the world should strive for a greater good, making this world at least a little bit more bearable for others can go a long way and in doing so she has a duty to strive for justice and fairness.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Ehsaan has a knack for all things technology, although she regrets picking this subject at school she does love the subject in general. She is well versed in some coding languages, knows about hardware inside out and could also tell you the latest tech news if you were interested enough to ask. However she is upset by how the tech community have neglected the good that comes with tech and believes it has become more about profit and big business.
Ehsaan loves to learn new things no matter the subject, no matter the teacher, she has quite a few hobbies and interests ranging from all sorts of things, from Chess to sports to classical music. She believes that every subject has at least one great lesson and therefore Ehsaan does not fit into a stereotypical box. Since she has many interests, she is able to connect with both the popular and not so popular students in her class. Though for her this means she is not able to make long lasting and close friendships as she finds herself hovering over one group to another. This is why she cherishes the friendship with Giovanni and Ezra in the way she did, it was not a loose friendship like she had in school, but a far closer one.
Ehsaan is very empathetic, she has a warm heart to almost anyone she comes across with, assuming they meet on good terms. She is in fact so empathatic that she sometimes forgives and forgets the actions of others who have wronged her as she learns the reasons behind their actions.

Likes & Dislikes

Likes: Ehsaan loves reading, her mind can wonder into such wonderful places, places which she wishes they could exist. Her imagination is this vivid, Ehsaan can easily imagine and cast herself into another world when reading. It is one of the few places she can escape to in her life. Her favourite genres include Fantasy and Historical fiction, books that cause confusion, doubt and curiousity.
She also takes pleasure in writing books, this is so she can create her own worlds, her own characters and be in charge of her own life all which is quite the contrary to her own. Her love of culture and history has made her a massive fan of con-langing and world building. She loves to invent new and fantastical things, things which could not possibly be real in our world but in her world it is.
She is great at all things sports, ever since childhood Ehsaan had been above average at a number of sports including, football, badminton, basketball but archery and cricket being her most favourite. Ehsaan sees these pass times as a genuinely fun hobby and is such a fan that she also loves to watch live sports events on tv. Dislikes: We all know Ehsaan despises having to talk when it is not needed, this is a given. Her dislikes come rolling out one after the other after this because they all seem quite closely linked. Ehsaan hates loud and boistrous people, she cannot stand unnessary noise, noises like loud chewing, a nasally laughter or snorting etc. She assossiates these sounds with people who hold little regard to others.
Ehsaan also dislikes heat or to put in better terms, an excess of heat. She does not like how summer brings about hyperactivity in people's lives and would rather prefer a milder temperature like in the spring or autumn months. Her body does not handle excess heat very well as she sweats extremely easily, she most definately prefers being cold than being hot. Though she does not seem to mind Giovanni's element that much, perhaps because he controls it very well.

Ehsaan is a very forgiving character. She understands that people can slip into a wrong path almost too easily since she too had been there. She had been a very cold and judgdmental in the past and could not give sympathy for wrongdoers. Ehsaan is not like this anymore, she in fact goes out of her way to suggests excuses for them, believing every action must come from somewhere, Ehsaan in this way is not a nativist but rather sides with the nurture debate.
Ehsaan does not like to put herself up onto a pedal stool even if she was to do something quite remarkable. She does not like attention and would rather sit back and observe. This makes Ehsaan very humble but also a great listener.

Vices & Personality flaws

Ehsaan is frankly terrible when reading aloud in public, she cannot hold a single sentence without her heart racing and would rather die on the spot than having to continue, (this is how she feels anyway). Reading is one of her favourite hobbies and passions but it is a shame she cannot express herself for it.
Ehsaan tends to think very pessimistically when thinking about herself, she has quite a low self- esteem and definately does not give herself enough credit!

Ehsaan gulps rather loudly if in a silent room, though this happens if she is very anxious or is compelled to speak when she does not at all want too. Her eyes force shut and if very close to her, you can even hear her pulse race.

Hygiene

Ehsaan has relatively average hygiene, she is not a clean freak nor is she unclean or dirty. She does the dishes and tidies her home when she needs too but she does sometimes have a tendancy of missing one or two days of showering ( this is when she is in one of her very low moods). Thankfully though, Ehsaan has a tendancy to despise a feeling of uncleanliness quite quickly and this feeling over powers the feeling of her low moods.

Contacts & Relations

Relation with parents: Ehsaan's view of her parents are very contradictory and confusing to say the least. She understands that her parents are not the richest people in the world and respects how her parents work odd jobs here and there to make ends meet, she has always been mindful about that and indeed respects and loves her parents sacrifices a great deal. However their invasive mannerisms have pushed far to many buttons for her, especially during her teen years. As a child, Ehsaan was free, free from criticism and was not at all blamed or ridiculed, she was free to play, free to talk with whoever it may be but as a teen this was not the case. Ehsaan was subject to mockery in the name of her famiy's reputation. She could not leave the house when she wished, she could not talk to whoever she wished and she could not act like her usual quiet tomboyish self around her family and relatives. She feels as though her parents are constantly pecking away her soul to the point her real self has been locked away.

Relation with Giovanni: It's not that she had not gotten along with Giovanni when they had first met but it was rather a lack of an ice breaker. Ehsaan did not want to get to know Giovanni as she viewed him as the sole reason she had been in such a mess, he was cocky and childish and it irritated her. Ehsaan had thought Giovanni to be like the Lamentari they had seen in the alley way, ruthless and incapable of sympathy but in reality he had been none of those things. She believes that it was all her fault , she triggered the hunt and the ultimate sacrifice of Giovanni's parents and she will still believe this despite Giovanni refusing to. The two became close quite early on and she felt that the stay in the forest had been made bearable due to Giovanni's comforting nature, it would have been impossible to go through with that on your own. It wasn't until the they had reached Azaad that their relationship had turned a little sour. Ehsaan was especially saddened by Giovanni's disappearances and thought he had swapped her for a lousy job, Asheerah and later on Veera. She could not even believe that she had been spending more time with Ezra than him and was deeply upset as she thought how Giovanni was so easily persuaded by others. It was later revealed that this was not true and Ehsaan was relieved as both her and Giovanni's feelings poured out, promising they will forever love each-other despite distance and societal norms.

Relation with Ezra:We all know how Ezra despised Ehsaan post the Lament attack but does Ehsaan feel the same way? As a matter of fact no, she had envisioned Ezra like the boy she had just met. A boy who was quiet, quiet but smart and with a thirst for knowledge and questions. She had enjoyed his company when she had her first real stay at the Mehir household and always knew that he was still under there somewhere. It is completely understandable that Ezra had reacted the way that he did and she did not blame him for doing so (well for the most part). Ezra was always shown to be slightly sensitive around her as he helped her to understand and work with her element. Ezra was indeed her teacher in this and she has always appreciated how he was never shy of giving her the low-down for unfamiliar situations or events, unlike the others who expect her to know these things. Ehsaan feels that Ezra is a lot like her, her in her own world, an introverted and observant so thus welcomed him when he began opening up to her. She loves his lack of dependency and his drive to succeed. He is strong willed and respectable in that sort of way and that was why he had chosen to sacrifice himself for her and Giovanni, in the most noble of ways, for Ezra will still live inside her heart.

Relation with Veera: Initially Veera had been all what Ehsaan dreamed of being, a pretty, talented young woman who had the world going for her. Although she does not want to admit it, she was not surprised that Giovanni had been hanging around her. She had everything, wealth, appearance and power, things that Ehsaan believes she does not have. She was slightly jealous for this reason. Ehsaan was never very good at making friends, friends from higher places was the most difficult as she often did not get along with their ethics. Veera in her eyes did not know what struggling really was and so she could never have understood Ehsaan's true self. Veera was the total opposite to her, an open and extroverted character who was willing to and found it very easy to talk back. It wasn't until Ehsaan and Giovanni were caught dancing in the hall that she learnt not to judge a book by its cover. Veera was willing enough to stand by her despite not knowing a thing about her and her status in Azaad. She had not been like the other Lamentari, not even like the Azaadi. During Ehsaan's monthly blues Veera's kind-hearted nature shone and the pair soon became close companions as secrets began to unfold one by one.

Relation with Asheerah/ Heydar: Ehsaan despises Asheerah even from the very beginning though she did not want to say in case they lose their stay in the bakery. She had treated her like a slave, paying her little to nothing for hours of labour. Ehsaan was not used to working even in her own world so this was particularly difficult for Ehsaan to understand. She hated Asheerah for having favourites, she did not treat her like a human being, nor did she want too whilst the boys had it easy. Asheerah in Ehsaan's eyes is no better than the cruel Lamentari who looks down on others. She had separated Ehsaan from Ezra and especially Giovanni and in turn almost severed their relationship, she will never forget how she was forced to suffer under her watch. Luckily Heydar had turned out to be different, Ehsaan is grateful for his bravery to fight for their cause but could not help but think if it was a little too late.

Relation with Omid: She is not like her family. Ehsaan enjoys being with her when she is under uncomfortable situations, Omid allows her to forget about things like that. She has a natural calming nature to her which uplifts Ehsaan when she is upset. They became close, almost like a sibling relationship by the end and Ehsaan has never been more thankful for that. She was regretful as she was not able to say goodbye, Omid had been one of the few who had kept her sane in rough times and will surely miss her. Ehsaan hopes Omid will grow up to always be her gentle self.

Relation with Feris/Primus,etc: Ehsaan cannot stand people who think they are better than others in all its forms. Ehsaan does not understand why must people screw over others to get what they want, it is a mark of weakness and cowardice.

Family Ties

Although Ehsaan's family do not have a very high status they often put reputation above everything else as a way to impress those families who have high status. Ehsaan hates this as this means that she is always bombarded with rules and barriers in life for the sole reason to impress those who she has little affection or even knowledge about. Most of her family do not live in the UK, many live abroad but the majority still live in her parent's homeland.

Religious Views

In her early teenage years Ehsaan had strangely taken religon very seriously, serious than most teens in her age. She followed a conservative form of Islam and would debate on controversial topics with others for mere enjoyment. This lead to harsh critique on fellow school mates, family members and the general public at large until she found that a perfect religious life was not always sustainable. Ehsaan's personal life has taken a tumble and day by day she struggled to keep up with it all. Her thoughts on religion has been wavering recently, often wondering on life's biggest questions, struggling to answer the concept of love and pain, wondering if everything will all be worth it in the end. But for now, Ehsaan still holds on to Islam, though now a less conservative form

Social Aptitude

Ehsaan is a strange one. She is highly introverted, known only to utter words when absolutely necessary or to those who are close to her. She had been an extremely shy child but things have changed since then, Ehsaan would not say that she is shy anymore but rather dislikes talking, in fact she does not like it at all. This is one of the reasons why she was not able to discuss things with Giovanni for a long time until she hit a breaking point.

Mannerisms

There is no question that Ehsaan is a very shy person and very rarely expresses herself or her thoughts. When in a bad mood she often clenches her fists whilst walking particularly fast as a way of calming down.

Hobbies & Pets

Ehsaan does not own pets mostly because pets are not allowed in her flat/ apartment in her world and her feelings with animals in general are fairly mutual. As a child she enjoyed going to the local farm, although very small compared to farms in the country side it is one of her happiest memories, petting the sheep and the donkeys.
Ehsaan spends most of her day drawing to her hearts content, she takes pleasure in breathing life into her ideas. She wanted to be an artist when young but that was quickly beaten out of her, her parents you see do not really think being an artist is a respectable job. Her mother has often yelled and hastily threw her old drawing tablet in the hopes for her to quit it, Ehsaan however did not.

Speech

She is very quiet in nature and does not talk very often and when she does it comes across as a surprise. Ehsaan has a tomboyish voice with a heavy London accent ( slightly east end/ cockney) and so when she talks people are rather taken aback. She has a habit in her world to talk very heavy slang however she can easily adjust to others if they are not familiar with it, changing into the traditional British accent that most of the world is familiar of.

Wealth & Financial state

Ehsaan has always remained a working class girl, she lives in the rough areas of London and simply cannot afford to do things that are considered what a girl her age ought to be doing in her teen years, things like eating out and hanging with friends are much too expensive and this is a reason why she can come across as quite a distant figure, she saves herself from the embarrassment of ever being asked. Her life is quite rough but she makes do with what she has and learns to find enjoyment using far cheaper methods, things like drawing or writing. Ehsaan thus has very little wealth apart from the small bursary provided by her school which goes towards new books and equipment. Speaking of school, Ehsaan is free- school meal student which suggests that both her parents do not earn enough, in fact her parents are unemployed and the family has been living off government subsidies ever since her father had lost his job in a factory.
