Giron Laverra
Captain (a.k.a. The Fiddler on the Deck)
One of the most famous ships on the Heart Sea is the Lady Luck, not in the least because of her captain. Giron Laverra is a colourful person who loves a good trick but at the same time is a horror for his enemies. He is a merchant, a bard and a pirate: sometimes all three at the same time. He's known as a friend of Yellara but in the Sentran Empire a bounty is to be earned by the person who brings him in alive. The Queen-Sorceress of Livore feels more or less the same way about Giron as he does about her: both like annoying each other but neither wants the other truly dead. For now at least...

Body Features
Giron's dark skin points to Sentran ancestry though it is slightly lighter than that of a true Sentran. He has the pointed ears that characterise him as a half-elf.

Black hair and a beard shot through with grey stripes. Under his left eye, Giron has a small scar of which nobody in his crew knows the story.

Employment
Captain of the ship the Lady Luck
Intellectual Characteristics
Giron is a shrewd businessman with a great love for music. He is not very learned but knows the ways of the sea as if it were a part of him.
Morality & Philosophy
Although some people might describe him as a pirate, Giron himself does not see it that way. He prefers to limit his attacks to Sentran slave ships if he sees the chance but his main occupation is being a merchant, though not always in legal goods.
Taboos
Although Giron has connections in the criminal circuit, he still has standards. He loathes assassins and slavers as they make their money of other people's misery. He does not allow the use of drugs (beyond alcohol and meds, that is) and using something is a good way to get kicked out of his crew.
Personality Characteristics
Likes & Dislikes
Giron has a great love for poetry and loves writing (terrible) poetry himself. A good way to come into his good graces is by composing or reciting some poetry.
Virtues & Personality perks
Any time Giron has the chance to take over a slaver's ship, he does so with glee. More often than not he wins and uses the profits the ship brings to help the slaves. Sometimes the slaves form a new crew and take the ship for themselves, something Giron encourages.
Vices & Personality flaws
He's not the most patient man and he tends to rub people with authority the wrong way.
Hygiene
Giron firmly believes that a trimmed beard is the key to all succes. Other than that, his hygiene is quite limited to perfume and taking a bath if he's on dry land (which is not quite often).
Social
Contacts & Relations
Because of his targets and behaviour, some people speculate that Giron has ties to the Union of the Broken Chain, a semi-secret organization that struggles against slavery in the Heart Sea area.
His stance on slavery has made Giron a welcome sight in Yellaran ports. In fact, some ship crews in the Yellaran navy consist mainly of freed slaves. Thus, if the need arise Giron is able to call in favours with both the Yellaran government and individual captains.
Family Ties
Giron is an orphan but he sees his crew as his family and does his best to protect them.
Religious Views
Giron is a devout follower of Kolnuisce, the sea goddess.
Social Aptitude
Giron is extremely charismatic and is almost always in a good mood. He likes flirting with beautiful ladies but not a single person in his crew is able to remember him ever moving beyond that. He doesn't shy away from a fight and isn't above playing dirty tricks to win.
