John Wickerham was born in ______.
When he was ____, a Dragon burnt down his village killing everyone, except him. John vowed vengeance on Dragons, & started seeking information on the so that he could get revenge.
He came to Estoria & lived in the Halfling village for a time.
John Wickerham is a stout halfling from a forest village of normal halflings. John was bigger and stronger than the average halfling in his village. While all the rest would rather sing, dance and be merry; John liked to explore the forest. Climbing the massive trees, Foraging, spending the night in the dark woods alone, and tending to the village animals, or trying to tame wild animals. John was known for his talent with animals. If he could fight it, he would. John always enjoyed a good wrestle with the village Hogs.
One day the village was beset by a pack of wolves. John was milling around the village when he heard the screams of terror. running to the aid of those under attack, he body slammed the first wolf. It hopped up and ran away. The second he punched and it ran too. The third was the alpha. It was not as easily deterred. It attacked, but was too large for John to handle. He grabbed a barrel lid as a shield and fended it off. After some time, John deterred the alpha and he had saved his village from the wolves.
He told his village; he was leaving to learn to fight and how to properly use a shield so he may protect them all better. And he did. After a long time, he returned home to a grateful village that welcomed him as their hero. He lived a peaceful life. Sleeping in the tree tops, and living off the lands. The night that he lost it all was when a dragon attacked. He never saw it, but he did see the fire. It engulfed everything. His home, friends, and village. Smoke filled the sky and when it rained there was only the smell of burnt forest left. No screams, or cries. Just him. And his vow of revenge.
(Rumor: John, in one of his rages, has lifted a barrel of apple cider with one hand and drank the whole thing. Rumor: One-time John was trying to catch a chicken. He took all day to catch it. when he finally got it, it beat him up and got away. Rumor: The night that John lost his village; John went into a bloodthirsty Rage and threw everything and anything in the village at the dragon. And the dragon fearing his rage left him the only survivor.)
