The Numabian Wars

The Conflict

Prelude

After Chog fell, those who would become the Numab were thrown into chaos. Survivors broke into roving raiding parties to scavenge food or water. Many died from poison or gases or other accidents because of how suddenly and substantially the world had changed. Raiders also vied for the chance to be let into Piromere, trying to find whatever they could to bargain their way to "salvation". Life in the Borderlands and the Wastes was brutal and often short with little recourse for a peaceful life.

Outcome

The war was resolved by Anika Bluehair who gathered support and built relationships between the different tribes of the Numab. She established the first crew as it is now conceived of a navigator, captain, engineer, and survivalist. She learned how to survive in the new wilderness by looking to the natural world to see how plants and animals had adapted. She lead the formation of the accords that brought peace and formed the modern confederacy. She did this by rejecting the false hope that one day they would be let into Piromere and the illusion that it was impossible to survive in the Wastes.

Aftermath

The Accords shape modern day life of the Numab as the tribes continue to adhere to them. Her ideas of looking to the natural world for adaptation to the new environment have since shaped the Numab approach to survival and engineering. Because of this, the Numab are adept at life in the Borderlands and the Wastes. Annika's resolution of the War lead to the formation of the Gathering Place where the tribes continue to meet to renew their promise to each other under the accords and to continue to strengthen ties between tribes.
