Karos; Demihuman Mastermind

Karos is a demihuman crime boss in the city of Veluca. Like all other members of his kind he is quite short, measuring at roughly three and a half feet tall, and lithe with little to no muscle on his body. In spite of his size he is a very powerful man. He controls much of the criminal activity in Veluca and runs a smuggling operation out of the dock to move illicit goods through the shipping company owned by a human compatriot he knows.
In spite of having no magical potential Karos remains one of the most intimidating men in the city. He never shows his face unless he has to, usually acting through one of his patsies or pawns. When he does appear in person he has his “guard dog”, a cyclops named Dog. Dog, like all cyclopes, is ten feet tall and built to be powerful and stocky, yet possesses limited mental capacity. Dog relies on Karos to make his decisions and Karos relies on Dog for physical protection. In matters of magic he has connections to a few mages around the city, though none of them work directly under him so their astral presence cannot be easily traced back to him.
Karos has little interest in the plight of his fellow demihumans and considers the Painted to be an eyesore of a fad that will ultimately benefit nobody. He instead makes use of the disenfranchised demihuman population of Veluca to serve his own ends by promising them money and power while at the same time keeping the lions’ share for himself.
Karos wears a black suit with a matching top hat and a purple tie. He keeps his silver hair combed back and usually has a cigar in his mouth. He is ambitious, cunning, and devious with a knack for manipulating his fellow demihumans by playing on their insecurities and disdain toward humanity.
