The Imperial Guard

The Imperial Guard is sworn to defend all of Thousand, but in actuality it's mostly focused on the territory of Golden Sun - the other Houses tend to employ their own guard force. Like most large public organisations, the guard is well-intentioned but not always terribly effective. Still, they're firm allies - so long as you stay on the right side of the law.

The Imperial guard's uniform varies by rank and precinct, but they can always be recognised by their yellow capes. As the colour of Golden Sun and thus of Imperial authority, most common people do not wear yellow (indeed, mercenary companies are banned from wearing yellow cloaks).

Notable NPCs:

Captain Yataiguo: Captain of the Star Market precinct, this world-weary man often ends up tidying up after the chaos caused by local adventurers. He has still not forgiven wild mage Tera for accidentally animating his boots, which ran off without him. They're still out there somewhere.

Ninna: A guard under Captain Yataiguo. Her good-quality armour suggests she's of officer rank. This is surprising, as she comes across as a bit ditzy.

Nishigi: A black dragonborn working under Captain Yataiguo. She is a necro-interrogator, someone permitted to speak with or temporarily raise the dead to aid in criminal investigations. Nishigi is creepy, and thoroughly enjoys being so.
