Session 6 - A Perfect Dream
We picked up where we left off, with everyone trapped in individual dreams. Yunhu dreamed of graduating college, Tera of preparing to travel the world with her parent's blessing, Sekket of teaching his son to forge a sword and Lun of reuniting with his parents. It was essentially a perfect day for each character.
The exception to this was Kyto, who found himself repeating a strange memory over and over; of being a child, travelling down a golden corridor guided by a tall, slender figure in dark clothing who said "We're going to meet Tsunamjin". Sitting around a low table, watching purple tea being poured from a kintsukuroi teapot, cracked porcelain mended with gold. The slender figure spoke with someone else whose face Kyto could not see, only that they had long golden hair and a calm voice. The discussion edged into an argument, but before could resolve, the dream would end and start anew.
(Remember that while the players around the table witnessed this, your character did not! Unless someone discloses their dream in-character, the above is not public knowledge.)
Unaware of any of this, Shinzu found herself very much awake and physically in the Feywild itself, because elves do not sleep or dream. The surroundings were a forest of sorts, but the trees were twisted and the light had an unnatural purple hue; it gave the feeling of being strange and alien but not inherently threatening - particularly not to a Lockbox wood elf used to more troublesome forests. She was actually rather excited at being here, as it was thought to be impossible now to get into the Feywild. As she looked around, she spied two trees in the distance and between them, as if looking through a cracked mirror, she saw Yunhu tangled in branches and seemingly asleep. Between other trees, she could see the others of the party also entangled. She tried to approach but couldn't get any closer no matter how far or how fast she walked towards them. She soon found herself approached by a shadowy figure from a clearing in the trees, it is a fey creature although it doesn't feel immediately dangerous. The creature is purple in hue, like the light. Her long hair merged into a flowing cloak both of which move around her as if under flowing water rather than in the air. The creature introduced herself as a friendly nereid called Ceronde and while seemingly baffled by Shinzu's appearance, she agreed to help her find her friends. While searching they had to avoid ghostly dog creatures. Ceronde claimed they were patrolling for 'the Wolf' and to avoid them if possible. Luckily Shinzu has crazy stealth, so this was easily done. Shinzu had to pass through a rose grove that looked like the ruins to a once-grand palace courtyard. In the sky was a blood red moon, much larger and closer than it should have been, giving the area an oppressive feeling. There was also a statue of a woman labelled 'Our Lady of Dusk' and a plaque that read:
Meanwhile, the group went searching for Kyto in the Feywild. They eventually discovered him nestled in the cap of a large fungal treant rooted into the ground, currently occupied with petting a placid moose. The treant introduced itself as Prophetshroom and asked the group to show it 'something unpredictable' in return for their friend. When Tera showed off her wild magic it released Kyto and gave the group some treasure as thanks. Kyto's dream-fight with the walking hut abruptly ended, and he didn't disclose what had happened to the group. Old enough to remember the Feywild before it shattered, Prophetshroom confirmed its current state was due to 1) the ruling fey lords leaving after being called away by Tsunamjin for The Great Duty and 2) Tsunamjin merging the Feywild with the Abyss. It also confirmed that the 'Lady of Dusk' was Setsuna, who was known for being especially clever, but not very kind. Like many fey lords, Setsuna traded her power to escape The Great Duty and left her piece of the Feywild behind, but is still able to access it if needed. The Wolf was her pet, one driven mad by her absence. The treant didn't protest that the group might have to fight the Wolf, stating that everyone in this 'shard' of the Feywild would 'return to sleep' once they had left. The party waking up and destabilising the Feywild drew the attention of the Wolf. Ceronde theorised that they could either run from the Wolf until the Feywild unravelled enough to send them back home, or defeat it to create a more stable exit. The group opted to fight it, along with several shadow dog minions. Lun was the one to defeat it with Vicious Mockery, because of course he did. As a portal home opened up, Ceronde asked if she could come with the group, who readily agreed. They all went through, leaving the other denizens of the Feywild behind, and the session ended...

"My hand holds not what it should,After solving this puzzle Shinzu passed, also acquiring her living longbow Rule of Rose. They managed to find the others before long, who looked to be bound within trees branches, vines and flowers. Due to the weird laws of space and distance in the Feywild, the only way Shinzu could interact with them was via their reflections in puddles of water. Still, by pulling the vines off, the dreams each person was having were disturbed in some way. This was enough for them to realise they were dreaming, fight their dark fey spirit captors and wake up. As people woke up one by one the Feywild grew more unstable and fragmented in appearance. However Kyto remained missing. Kyto himself had realised he was trapped in a looping dream - or rather, a memory. Setsuna finally showed herself and demanded to know where Tsunamjin was as Kyto had met them before, but Kyto had no memory of this. He attacked Setsuna, only to find himself standing on the street in front of her shop. Setsuna stated that since Kyto had stuck a dagger in her house it was only fair if the house got to retaliate. The house then picked itself up on what looked like chicken legs and started fighting him. Kyto fought well for a 1-v-1 but the house eventually KO'ed him, only for Setsuna to heal both him and the house, stating that she planned to kill Kyto over and over for his insolence, or until he gave up his secrets.
I wanted heart; they gave me blood,
I wanted love; they gave me war,
And a gate to guard forevermore."
