Elves of thoromir

The elves originate from the south eastern continent, Evris, where they are the dominant category of humanoids. The continent is currently controlled by the High-Eleven emperor Suundin, the latest in a long line of High-Eleven rulers. Before anyone on Lashor could remember, Evris had been a place of never ending wars between the 3 races of elves: High elves, Wood elves, and the dark elves (drow). That was until the High-elves resorted to making deals with Yuan-ti and Lizardmen settlements, and conscripted them into their ranks. The Drow were the first to fall, as they were unprepared for large scale assaults of wild and barbarous Lizardmen led by terrifying Yuan-Ti pure bloods and abominations, followed by highly organized and precise ranks of high-elves. Not content with simply conquering the Drow, they enslaved the dark elves, replacing the reptilian races as the first line of offense and becoming the high elves new cannon fodder.

The wood elves however, were not so easy to break. They saw what the high elves were doing and bargained with the Goblinoids within their lands in an attempt to even the playing field. A plan that worked until the Drow were conquered and were focused solely towards the Wood elves. Though the High-elves had a massive numbers advantage, a large section of their forces were unorganized and primal, prone to infighting between tribes, whilst the Hobgoblins were successful in uniting and rallying the Goblinoid tribes into a mighty, and formidable legion. Eventually however, numbers outweighed strategy and good formation, and the Wood-eleven lords were forced to surrender and capitulate to the High-elves demands. Their efforts did draw respect from the conquering High-elves, and so they were given the honor of keeping their titles as lords and their lands, as long as they swore fealty to the new self proclaimed emperor. Some lords did refuse, and they were swiftly dealt with and their lands given to the remaining four lords. As part of the new ruler's demands, the wood-elves would become the main military force, and by extension law enforcement outside of the High-eleven homelands.
