General Summary
Daegon, frustrated by the failed attempt to open the gate leaves the room to meditate and rest. The rest of the group inspects the gate for anything they might have missed while Aralove reads the gate book with Finway.
Two days later, Poe arrives at the cave and is introduced to the group by Aralove. Poe gets to know the team and annoys Daegon in the process. Poe tells them that Briahna is about a week away in Aubrey and while they wait, he and Daegon settle their differences and rest until she arrives.
Following an awkward reunion between Brie and Aralove, they discuss Malchus and where he may be and then all turn their attention to the gate. Before Brie attempts to open it, Daegon feels he needs to inform her that the Witch in the swamp is looking for her which seems to only add fuel to Brie as she powers up the gate enough for it to throw her back across the room and leaving the gate completely opened.
Acteronis tests it with his fingers and then steps through into a meadow on a hilltop overlooking what he believes is Esterholt. Hearing a roar, he looks and sees a large white dragon flying over the town and quickly returns through the portal and informs the others what he has seen.
Everyone decides that they may be needed there and one by one rush through the lighted portal to the other side. Khoury says goodbye to Fluffy and releases him back into the wild before moving through herself.
