Not long after running away from the church, Sylvian would meet, and learn most of his criminal secrets from, Evangeline Spencer. Evnageline was seventeen when they met and was already an accompolished theif. In some areas she had even developed a reputation in the criminal world as someone who could procure anything.
The traveled together for three years before they were separated and Sylvian assumed Evangeline was killed. Not long after her disappearance, Sylvian was tried for murder and nearly executed leading him to travel to the Americas in 1608. While Sylvian often wondered if Evangeline was still alive, he never had the opportunity to return to England until long after she would have died of old age.
Evangeline had escaped her captors and continued working throughout Europe for many years. During one particular heist, she encountered an unnamed demon, catching the thing as it slept. With her knife cutting deep into the demons neck, the thing offered her a bargain. Immortality and eternal service in exchange for his life. Initially she regretting letting Vazun live, but he became a valuable asset in her work and, unlike she had been raised to believe, the demon actually felt no ill-will toward humans nor any desire to see their downfall.
Though they traveled together for a time, Vazun was eventually recalled to Purgatory, but is still required to return at her command.
Evangeline resurfaced in 2002 attempting to steal a diamond from Night Tower and was only caught because Sylvian recognized her. Evangeline was a shocked to see Sylvian was still alive and the two rekindled their friendship.
Evangeline has expanded her crime to include hacking and corporate espionage while continuing a series of elaborate thefts. However, she refuses to work as an assassin.
