Terra

The Terra were a nomadic people who roamed across the Gold Plain during the Second Era. Largely only know by the outside world as bands of raiders that came from the grassland, they disappeared suddenly near the end of the Second Era.

Culture

Common Dress code

While moving within their native lands of the Gold Plain, most of their persons were covered with a cloak woven from the Gold Grass of the plain, acting as breathable and lightweight shelter from the hot sun

Art & Architecture

The Terra are not know to have left behind any permanent structures that have survived long enough to be recorded by outsiders. It is assumed that they made temporary shelters, probably woven from the gold grass as that is the only material on the Gold Plain.   The few surviving articles of clothing sometimes display highly intricate ornamentation incorporated into their woven material. From studying some of these, it is theorized that they may represent significant moments in the owners, or tribes history being recorded in a way that the Terra would be able to take with them without becoming a burden.

Common Myths and Legends

Near the end of the Second Era, several Terra prisoners were taken during a failed raid in Conradinia. At this time some were questioned by scholars working with the kingdom guard, resulting in the only known primary source on the enigmatic people. However, due to an insurmountable language barrier, and the prisoners soon escaping their capture, the only recorded information was concerning the peoples mission to subdue and seal away some great evil that they contained within the Gold Plains. They claimed that this great beast sought to devour the world, attacking all it saw with claws and teeth and horns. This story has since been dismissed as a myth within the Terra culture by modern scholars.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Among the Terra, beauty was utility above all other things. As a nomadic peoples, useless objects quickly became a burden. This is not to say, however, that ornamentation was not appreciated, though even these tend toward being useful in their own right, such as intricate woven patterns in their garments that also act as camouflage.
