Zetszeis Notus, Mother of the Yuan-Ti Faith

General Info

History of The Yuan-Ti

The Yuan-Ti, once a great empire standing in the era Artoyus alongside Artukos, the Lord of Demons, fell to ruin after The Lords' Rebellion. However, that was not the end of the Yuan-Ti. Near the end of the Lords' Rebellion, one of the first portals to an echo plane was discovered: a long-forgotten permanent passage to the Shadowfell. a third of the Yuan-Ti population was able to evacuate into the Shadowfell before their empire was razed by the wrath of the Lords. They found themselves in a dark place drained of color, but from the rubble of their old empire, a new one was born. they created the Shadowfell nation of Larvi, survived The High Cataclysm, and have managed to make a living for themselves ever since.

Larvi's Influence upon the Shadowfell

In the Shadowfell, the power of Ixthra and its infamous "Serpent King" overarches the puny military and power of Larvi, but that does not mean that Larvi does not have a large influence in the Shadowfell. Instead, Larvi has dominated the religious beliefs of the Shadowfell. The leader of Larvi, Zetszeis Notus, the mother of the Yuan-Ti religion, has built her religious nation from the dust of the old Yuan-Ti empire, prophesying the Great Serpent's return from the far reaches of Gearva.

The Prophecy of the Great Serpent

It is said that this Great Serpent will return and smite the other Finite Races to dust, once again raising the Yuan-Ti Empire back to its past status and power... For this reason, Zetszeis Notus is almost considered a God herself among the Yuan-Ti people and is the sole priestess and prophetess of the Great Serpent. Nearly all of the permanent inhabitants of the Shadowfell at least acknowledge the existence of the Great Serpent and are waiting for the day in which the Material Plane will become theirs for the taking...
