The Lake of The Helm
The Lake of The Helm is the only body of water in The Triplici Point. It was once a completely peaceful shallow lake, providing fish to Lirean and acting as a source of food and water for the wildlife, but it is now said to be hunted by a fearsome beast, lurking underneath the shallow waters of the lake... The locals call it The Monstrosity of The Helm, and it is said to have a shell as tough as tempered steel, a jaw as wide as the prow of a warship, and claws that can shred through any fortifications. It waits in the shadows for any unsuspecting passer-by, snapping them up in an instant and sustaining itself for yet another day...
Geography
The Lake is quite shallow, and is surrounded by lush forests and green, flowing hills thriving with wildlife. The lake itself has one peninsula near it’s center, on which the abandoned Tower of The Helm lies, vacated for nearly 100 years. As stated earlier, the Lake of The Helm is located in The Triplici Point.
Fauna & Flora
The wildlife in and around the lake is also mostly normal... That is, if it weren’t for The Monstrosity of The Helm. The Monstrosity hunts and consumes all the wildlife around it, causing its hunting grounds to be barren. For this reason the barren lands continue to grow and a slowly creep toward the village of Lirean...
Natural Resources
The area is rich in lumber, stone and herbs. The native people also consider the wildlife sacred, so many of them are vegetarians.
