The Culinary Traditions of Necrotus Concerning Seasoning

Necrotus could be considered "a strange nation", but their culinary traditions are quite unique. Other than using many of the twisted and strange flora and fauna found in Necrotus in their local meals, seasoning is also another very bizarre and important part of Necrotus' culinary traditions. Depending on the state of a meal, encounter, or celebration, Necrotians will use a different seasoning for all the meals involving that celebration or encounter. For example, during a wedding or another celebration involving marriage, all the associated meals will have a slight pinch of salt on them. During gatherings involving death, pepper is put on all meals. During celebrations involving birth, a pinch of rosemary is put on every meal. No one really knows where this tradition originated from, but there are many examples of many different seasonings included. Here are some more examples:
  • For gatherings involving reaching adulthood, garlic is put on every meal involved
  • For gatherings involving one's birthday, a drop of vinegar is put in every meal involved (usually every meal of that day)
  • For gatherings involving academic advancement, basil leaves are put on every meal involved

History

It is completely unknown how this tradition started in Necrotus, as the nation has not existed for that long. However, it is believed that this tradition is some sort of evolved form of seasoning system that Necrotian chefs tried to develop hundreds of years ago, but this has neither been confirmed or denied by anyone.

Execution

Most chefs and cooks know at least the most basic seasonings and what kind of gatherings or celebrations that correspond to, and most books on cooking published in Necrotus have a full list of seasonings and what kind of gatherings or celebrations that correspond to.
