Messenger Homunculus
The Homunculus is a squirrel-sized winged creature commonly used as an adventurer's companion. However, it has been repurposed in The Order of Wizardry as a messenger animal using its unique telepathic abilities. A single Homunculus can deliver hundreds of messages telepathically in a single day over many square miles. The Order actually uses its own unique nationwide messaging system revolving around Homunculus. Letters are sent into the local mailing center, where Homunculus is sent out to telepathically deliver the message to the named recipient. This method is loathed by some and loved by some as well. The first says that the Homunculus could easily relay private messages to the Government, while the latter says that telepathic communication is the most advanced form of mailing and that it will be the norm in the near future. Yet others decide to not concern themselves with what they call "a completely and utterly pointless argument, as The High Mages are just". However, no matter what anyone says, it is an extremely efficient way of sending out and receiving messages of all kinds.
