Ysil

Ysil

Ysil is the mythological progenitor of the Elves. According to Elven legend, he brought the first Elves with him to the Planos Materia when he was banished from his home. Today, many Elves worship him as "the seventh deity", and place him above the Astra Anculos. Other races do not accept his divine status.

Divine Domains

Ysil is seen by Elves as a deity of knowledge and life.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

It is said that Ysil brought with him a staff carved of Caeth'lann's tree, which granted him prophetic powers. Priests of Ysil use a ceremonial replica of this staff, ornately carved from willow trees, in their rituals.

Tenets of Faith

Followers of Ysil seek knowledge, and will often dedicate themselves to a life of learning, particularly science, philosophy, and magic. Extremely devout followers pursue glaeryd, or "clairvoyance" - a state of understanding regarding one's destiny and place within the wider cosmos. This is often achieved by constant, deep meditation, in which the participant may not even be aware of the outside world. It is thought that only in one's own mind can clairvoyance be attained. Those who claim to have achieved clairvoyance are rare, and often seem to know exactly how events around them will unfold.
