Author's Notes

The World of Tel lies in a reality that is orthogonal to our own. As such, historical cultures and languages in our world are reflected through the lens of this fantastical swords and sorcery setting.. Aeriscan is not a constructed language as much as it is a speculative dialect. The skeleton of Aeriscan is built from speculation of what a North African Romance language might have looked like in the 9th century had Arabic not successfully displaced the existing Latinate vernacular. Consequently, Aeriscan bears much similarity to medieval Sardinian.
