Othe
The world of Othe is one of six planets in its solar system, the only one which is inhabitable, and has two moons. Although the names of the moons are contested, usually bearing the label of one of the divine pantheons, the civilizations that have been established on the world have come into contact with each other, and the name Othe has been settled on as the world's name in its largest common tongue.
Othe is divided into three major continents; Othenar, Halor, and Roltam. Each of these continents is heavily populated by Man, though the other mortal species tend to be less evenly distributed.
Othe has a large temperate equator, with extreme northern and southern poles. Othenar, the largest continent, reaches far into both the northern and southern arctic regions, but the other continents, Halor and Roltam, only have a significant presence in the northern and southern polar regions respectively.
Othenar, despite its size, is largely temperate, with its northern and southern portions narrowing and disintegrating into island chains. Home to Mount Othe, the domain of the Gods, it has massive mountain ranges that serve as the home of the Dwarves, forests that are home to the Elf kingdoms, and broad northern wastes from which the Älgar originally hailed.
Halor, on the other hand, is cold and icy in its northern portions, but has a large heartland in the south that provides food and comfortable living places. As these temperate regions are largely devoid of metal, the northern portion of the continent has achieved a position as the seat of the Halori Empire. Halor is the native home of the Bulrin, Neriv, and Velan species, which have been seeing a resurgence in recent years after long-standing Imperial traditions to persecute them have been abolished.
In addition to these continents, there are many island chains that have risen to prominence, including the Rose Islands, known for their pursuit of cutting-edge technological development.
Underneath all of Othe is the shadowy realm of Anephon, home to the afterlife. Few voyages to Anephon return, but many of the divine creatures who serve as agents of the gods ascend from Anephon to interact with the world at large, especially in times of crisis.
