The Chains of Yarenil
Yarenil(Yahr-ray-Neel) is the collective of multiplanar dimensions that house the gods of malevolence. This is the endowed punishment administered by The Tent Divine to seal the power of these sinister gods for their corruption of Eyre during the Era of Chaos when the mortal world encountered the forces of evil long ago. Urthugax the god of Darkness and his followers were cast to these lower planes; each god bound to their dismal point of existence. Though the powers of these gods are fierce, their profound selfishness ultimately doomed the Chains of Yarenil to be defeated by the gods of light.
At the end of the War of Unification, following their defeat at the hand of Jubelia and the Tent Divine, the gods of Yarenil now spend eternities in imprisonment as atonement for their sins against the goddess. Eight divine chains bind the hellish fiends to their own respective worlds, with each plane being twisted by malice into the unfathomable horrors that reflect the imperfect personalities of their rulers.
These entities seek to exert control of the world of Eyre sole for the purpose of furthering their own devious agendas. Each deity yearns for revenge against the goddess who imprisoned them. Their seals are not ultimately potent, however, as at times they can weaken, and then the gods of Yarenil’s influence begins to creep into the mortal world, corrupting and defiling the natural balance. The origins of these beings are as much of a mystery as their creator, Urthugax, who came into being shortly after the birth of Jubelia.
