The War

"Armored men, dwarves, and elves marched across battlefields, besieged keeps and holds, and their arrows threatened to bring down the sky."

After the founding of the Kingdom of Silerith the Reinhart Union - [LN] found themselves for the first time constricted in their conquests to the east frequently butting heads with the kingdom and it's Knightly Order of Tyr - [LG]. Eventually this lead to an all out war between the two nations over resource rich mines located in the Iron Highlands rumored even to have a vein of adamant. This would go on to be known as the Skirmish for the Iron Highlands.
The war raged on for over a generation with sometimes decades between bloody conflict. This lead to the formation of the alliances which were the Dwarven Kingdom of Brisingr and the Reinhart Union against the Kingdom of Silerith and the Holy Cities of Corellon . The War, which everyone now referred to it as, raged without end until one terrible battle.
The Union had their own group of loyal sages who called themselves The Red Wizards. These wizards uncovered an artifact of immense energy. It was known as the Ulticron and the only description surviving of it today says, "It was wondrous and terrible to behold like a crystal of pure energy affixed to the grand sage's staff.". The artifact would prove too powerful to control effectively as a welded weapon so powerful that when the Union's grand sage used it's full force on the battlefield it rent the land and vaporized thousands of soldiers at once. There were losses on both sides but for the Reinhart Union the loses were catastrophic.
Now woefully outnumbered the Union had no choice but to surrender and sign the Treaty of Innsmouth between the nations. It was also in this treaty that laws for all nations were put in place preventing the use of such artifacts which the Guild of the Silver Sages deem too dangerous and the creation of the Halls of Infinium inside the Great Library where a vault would contain such dangerous objects or knowledge.
The Union is still rebuilding its ranks and have began trade with the Kingdom to restore order to the land.
