Tylnori Religion

Mythology & Lore

Tylnori mythology revolves around six major gods who are said to live in a fantastical palace deep within the heart of Mount Drakken in modern day Delos. According to the Tylnori creation myth the world was created from the union of Ledros and Fenn. Fenn is said to have given birth to Eldranis, Tebor, Arkuun, and all the animals that live on the earth. Seeking more company Eldranis took some clay from a river bed and formed a race known as the Ineffable. The Ineffible had two heads, four arms and four legs. Eldranis taught the Ineffible how to control the binding laws of the universe, creating the first mortal magic. Eventually the Ineffible, led by a individual named Aarden revolted against the gods and tried to seize control of the world for themselves. Ledros and Arkuun forged a mighty sword that was used to cleave the Ineffable into two beings. These beings lost their powers and became the first mortals.

Worship

Most practitioners of the Tylnori religion pray to the full Pantheon, with the exception of Rendis whose name is not spoken outside of the telling of myth. Each of the gods are also worshiped by specific cults who honor their patron god more directly.

Priesthood

Tylori temples are run by an Oracle who has the assistance of several Acolytes. Upon the death or retirement of the Oracle a new Oracle is elected from among the temple Acolytes. The Tylnori faith has no true religious head but time to time charismatic Oracles have been known to exert influence on the faith as a whole.

Political Influence & Intrigue

The Tylori religion does not wield much political power as an organization, but many rulers and politicians have been known to visit Oracles for their wisdom and blessings.

Patron God Cults
Cult of Ledros: Members of the cult of Ledros are usually also members of law enforcement organizations or attorneys. They pray for both the wisdom to act justly and for the strength to enforce justice.
Cult of Fenn: Worshipers of Fenn are usually farmers and pregnant women who pray for fertility and protection from disease.
Cult of Trebor: Trebor is popular among musicians and creatives. Users of the Spellsong also typically hold reverence for Trebor. Human members of the Tynori religion also worship Trebor as the hero of humanity.
Cult of Eldranis: Scholars of the arcane arts usually hold Eldranis in high esteem as the creator of the magical arts. Tylnori Elves see themselves as chosen by Eldranis due to their innate ability to do magic.
Cult of Arkuun: Builders and craftsman usually take Arkuun as their patron. Lawmakers and politicians are also common worshipers of the god of civilization.
Cult of Rendis: Worship of the god of death is broadly considered heresy by the most of the clergy, however there are rumors that vile cults of Rendis worshipers exist and practice their foul blasphemy in secret.
