The Winds of Vol Yhaera

The wind brings life and death, across the Tooth of Vol Yhaera.   The Katanari give thanks when it carries with it Mould, built up on rocky crags and stones littering the great open wasteland; with Mould, they will fashion houses and tools, for it is malleable while fresh.   They rejoice when it scatters the Seeds of Myzi, for it is from them that flowers will grow and the Ichor, precious for its use as fuel, may be harvested from their plump blossoms.   They accept without complaint when it carries the eggs of the Irzhi, for while the creatures can be dangerous once full grown, their discarded eggshells are suitable protection from the acrid air if fashioned into clothing.   But the Winds of Vol Yhaera are fickle masters, and the Katanari mourn when their baleful gusts carry the Oluja Tides. For when the Tides sweep across the Tooth, little can be done except hide away indoors, hug your loved ones close, and pray that there is a world left outside when the storm ends.
